The Best Bed Sheets Combo in 2022
Not getting enough sleep is one thing, but sleeping in a bed that is uncomfortably hot and making you breakout is another thing

Have you ever asked yourself how often you should wash your bed sheets? I mean - as long as they don't smell or show any signs of dirtiness, we don't really have to wash them, right?
What if I told you that just your pillow case could have as much or even more bacteria than your toilet seat? From the night sweats, debris that gets stuck in your hair during the day, and literally everything else, it all comes back to one place: your bed sheets.
So, is washing your bed sheets once a week enough?
Since middle school, my skin was so sensitive and seem to always have a breakout. My face would be itchy and my hair felt so rough. I was taking care of my skin and hair - trying product after product from inexpensive to some of the most expensive out there. I would try to decrease my stress and better my eating habits, and although, those two things did help my situation, it didn't completely cure it.
I soon decided to go to a dermatologist and I asked her, "What do you think I should do?" She then asked me how often I change my bed sheets. I was a little taken aback since I didn't see the correlation to my question and her question.
She went on to say, "Within the day, about 1/3 of our day is spent in our beds. Even though we cannot see it, just our pillowcases can have 350,000 live bacteria colonies." COLONIES; meaning more than one! She recommended I try washing my sheets with an unscented laundry detergent and white distilled vinegar instead of fabric softener. On top of that, she recommended switching to satin pillowcases and silk, satin, bamboo, or tencel bed sheets, which are hypoallergenic and feel cool for hot sleepers.
Within just a week, I woke up with my skin feeling cleaner and not irritated, and my hair had less fallout than the week before.
So, the short answer to the question is: NO. Just washing your sheets more often is not enough. It also matters what materials and products you are using to help keep you in the best shape possible.

Satin Pillowcases
One of the best things you can do for your hair and skin is changing the kind of pillow cases you sleep on.
I used to sleep on cotton pillowcases, particularly the extremely expensive Egyptian 1000 thread because I believed that since it was more expensive, it would somehow help my skin and hair problem. But even with all that money spent, I still struggled for years with breakouts . . . until my dermatologist had told me to try satin pillowcases. I did some research and found the Bedsure Satin Pillowcases from Amazon, and OH BOY! I wish I knew about these a long time ago!

These pillowcases are just $9.99 for a pack of two Queen size pillowcases. Compared to their competitor Kitsch, they are more than $20.00 cheaper, and, with their 200,000 5-star reviews, and considering how long they have lasted so far, they are more than worth it!
They come in four different sizes: 20x26, 20x30, 20x36, 20x40, so you'll have options for your twin, queen, and king size pillowcases!
Sijo Bed Sheets
During the summer, even with my AC at full blast, I struggled with sweating throughout the night and waking up with an itchy scalp and irritated skin. I tried all kinds of different cooling methods of sleeping: lying with one foot out and one foot under the blanket, sleeping with the least amount of clothes on, and even showering in ice cold water before bed, but all of this to no avail.
As I was scrolling through Instagram, I found a few brands that claimed to be the best for hot sleepers. I tried the big name brands first like Buffy, but again, I was still waking up in a pile of sweat.
I finally decided to try a different brand that I wasn't too familiar with: Sijo. They were having a clearance sale, so I bought their cheapest set. I was amazed that the next morning, I didn't wake up in a pile of sweat; I actually felt refreshed and well-rested! I loved my first set so much I donated my old bed sheets and bought more from Sijo in different colors!

Luxome Weighted Blanket
Since the Gravity Blanket came out years ago, weighted blankets became a well-known bedding accessory. For me, someone who can experience anxiety in the night, I bought my own Gravity Blanket. For five or six years, I used the heck out of my weighted blanket, but as I matured, the look of the dark gray cover with frayed stitching and the loud beads rolling around whenever I moved just didn't do it for me anymore.
Again, I went on a hunt to find a weighted blanket that could also help me with my night sweat situation, and I am proud to say, I have found my kryptonite.
The Luxome Weighted Blanket isn't just temperature-regulating, it's also super stylish with its incredibly soft and cooling covers. This blanket gives me the comfort of a regular weighted blanket with the luxury of feeling cool all night long!

The Luxome Weighted Blanket comes in three different sizes and weights:
54"x72" - 15 lbs (Full Size)
60"x80" - 18 lbs (Queen Size)
100"x85" - 30 lbs (King Size)
It also comes in different option for a removable cover or integrated cover with up to six different colors.
Although it is not the least expensive weighted blanket - $199.99 for the Queen Size - I truly believe it is worth it. The relief I felt after discovering this blanket was incredible!
